Flat tow wiring
Looking to set my Rubicon up fto be flat towed and trying to figure out the wiring to use the stock lights. Looks like MOPAR sells a harness but you need to disconnect the body control module every time just to use it. Is there a simpler harness out there?
You could splice in diodes in the passenger foot well (the wiring loom under the plastic molding) which is what i did a decade ago, but those harnesses are going to be a much cleaner install. I haven't used one of the harness but knew they existed out there.
I did my 2013 Sport a few years ago and used a harness from I believe hopkins that I got from Amazon. It was simply unplu the light connectors in the and put the harness connectors between thewn run the supplied wires to the front bumper with a 6 plug socket. Not long or difficult.

I got it from etrailer.com, not Amazon . Just go to www.etrailer.com and enter jeep wrangler tow bar wiring- Hopkins. It should come right up. Hope that helps.
One nice thing about it is the charging circuit is wired. So if your RV has that wired it will keep the Jeep battery charged going down the road. Some kits you have to stop periodically and start the Jeep for 20 to 30 minutes. I think it's more to do with braking systems that can drain the battery, but I run the ReadyBrute tow setup so the brakes are physical and not a box or unit on the floor pushing the pedal.
You can also look at one of the other ones that hook into the taillights, like the Curt or CoolTech ones, which you run up to the front and use a 5-pin connector. Easier to install other than running the wiring. The Mopar harness is good but it's a pita to plug in and you do have to drill a hole in the firewall behind the fender.
Hopefully I'm not too late. Just finished this up last month. I used the Hopkins 56200 plug and play wiring kit. This kit was an easy install without any splicing. Depending on what tow bar you are going to be using, I'd cut off the 4 pin connector it came with and wire in a 6 pin.
I paired that with the Roadmaster 88400 Brake-Light relay kit. This relay overrides the brake signal coming from the Jeep so when I'm braking and turning, the turn signal will light in the jeep, not the brake lights.
