Default Fog's....Why so picky about bulbs?

So does anyone know why the fog's are so picky about what we put in them as far as bulbs go?

I've read about guys putting high performance 55 Watt bulbs in them and they don't work or they start blinking. AND I've heard of guys putting normal halogen 55 Watt bulbs in and they work fine. Another member put SilverStar's in, which are rated at 65 Watts.....he says they work fine....?

Any experts out there? This makes no sense.

I put a PIAA 55 Watt Extreme White Bulb in and mine flash on and off? They are a lower Wattage then the SilverStars!

Thanks

Too much of a draw for that circuit with the high performance bulbs. You could probably stand by the circuit breaker and hear it pop on and off as they flash.
