Just another shot in the dark but DRL's. I have tried to turn mine on but I think there is a relay or something missing out of the US jeeps.... could that plug be for said relay or harness?

The plug. One purple wire and one purple wire with blue stripe.
Picture was taken with the horn bottom right, radiator bottom left and the plug in the center of the pic. The plug was originally hanging loose just beside the radiator behind the plastic grill. It's dirty enough that I don't think it has ever been connected or not connected at least in a while.

Did you ever figure out what the plug was for? I have 2010 and I saw the plug today and was wondering what it is for?

Daytime running light power comes over the regular headlight wires.

Post a picture of it. List the wire colors.
The wires for the air temp sensor are violet/brown, and viole/light green.

Someone on another thread was saying it's for the hood open alarm switch, also I think it would also control a hood light if you had that package. Don't have the hood light, but maybe the guys with hood light can chime in.

That plug is pre wired into most JKs. It is for the hood switch for vehicles that have the remote start option. If you ever plan on putting the factory remote start into your JK, all you have to do for the hood switch is bolt on the bracket and plug in the switch. I just did it last week or I neverwould have known either
