Default front driveline failure

Here's what happened on the trail last weekend. This is a photo of my front driveline that just twisted in half. I don't think that Jeep will warranty this.

I'm running 31" tires with a 2.5" lift.

Any input?

Rubicons come stock with 32" tires. I don't see where the lift would have any effect on that. They should warranty it.

I agree with redneck, if your running stock tires and only sitting on a 2.5" lift then they should warranty it, unless you have a hemi under threre you are not telling us about.

I'm thinking that I might have flexed enough to contact the skid plate and create a stress dent in the shaft. This would easily cause it to crumple and twist like it did. The local Jeep dealer did everything but laugh at me yesterday. I don't think they wanna help.

We were winching at an extreme side angle out of a deep snow bank. I also may have gotten on the throttle a little too much. Should have let the winch do the work.

I would try another dealer. How could you be so bound up in snow to do that to a shaft?

something just isn't right there. That should be covered. you're not even running stock rubi tires and the lift would have nothing to do with this. That's a manufacturer's drfect. Either go to another dealer or get an aftermarket replacement
