Thanks for all the input...some were too funny. My wife asked me if maybee I was just farting too. Tried all the suggestions.. guess it's off to the stealership. I wonder how many times I'll have to take it there for them to actually admit to hearing/doing anything.

It took mine to the stealership, this week, just one week after I bought the JK. Those bstrds told me the seat was just settling in, and that squeak would disappear after the seat settled. This makes no damn sense. I'll take it back at my fist oil change.
I also notice the squeak only comes from driver's seat. Perhaps it's related to the height adjusting mechanism.

Just brought mine into the stealship for the same reason. Got a call back that "we greased it well it uhhh seems the uh squek is gone" I told them to have someone sit in it and move around. Then they reply well i see you take it offroading. (Im thinkin to myself wtf does that have to do with it) i told them that a few people on the forums had the rails replaced to fix the issue. Then they reply i've never had to replace rails... So im going to pick it up later and i can guarantee the second i drive off the lot its going to happen again. i hope i dont have to bring it back in for the same stupid squeak later and waste more of my time

Mine is popping also. I had it at the dealership for the top recall and told them about it and he thought it was just a loose seat bolt. I don't know if they looked at it or not but it was still popping when I got back in it. I didn't have much time since it was lunch for me.

I'm going to take a look at it more closely maybe even yank the seat out.

So is the consensus that it is too much play in the rails? I can't believe that this thread started in 2008 and I have a 2011 and they still have this problem.

***UPDATE*** I went back to the dealer after work and told the service manager about the seat rails based on this thread. He came out and looked under the seat as I made it pop. He said he could see where it was moving, the Internet was correct and is going to order the parts for me. So it is excessive play in the rails.

2000 miles on my 12 and it is now squeaking when i stop or accelerate. True it happened after off roading so i am guessing that loosened it up. Per the last comment, i'll make sure to clean it all up and look less off roady before bringing it in.

That's the way mine started. Only when I would start or stop. Now it's anytime I move. But I think I have got used to it as it does not bother me as much. lol I need to get it in and have it fixed, along with the leaking front axle.

I had a squeak on my 2010, would have SWORN it was the seat, ended up being the pivot point on the seatbelt (button side).

Now my 2011 is a different story- this damn thing lets out a long SQUUUEEEAK whenever I accelerate. Started around 10k miles. Chrysler is buying my '11 back and replacing it with a 2012 because of the host of other issues I've had with it though, so I haven't really brought it in for the squeak since I just don't care anymore.

I'm also enamored with the crappy height adjustment handle and how it had gouged and scratched the piss out of the pleather trim on the edges of my pleather seats.

I fixed a driver side seat-squeak in my '07 last night. For lack of better words, it was the console-side upper pivot for the seat height adjuster rack. I'm not sure I can describe it any better but will try if needed.

My seat would squeak or creak pretty easy. I found that I duplicate the sound by raising the seat, and slowly lowering it with the height adjuster. I traced the sound using that method and hit the pivot with some WD-40. It's in a tight spot, but a 30 second job now that I know where it came from.

I've never heard a squeak or creek just the popping, and I can't say I've heard from the right side or had my wife ever mention it.

They did replace the rail assembly and it does not pop anymore. Not sure how long before this one starts popping but the assembly they put on in it now looks a little different from the assembly that was in it before. Hopefully that is a good sign.
