Default Front two hard top panels

Anyone know where I can buy the front top hard top panels?
I'm planning on running a net system but using the hard top panels in the front

google "freedom top sun bonnet"

seem to cost about $400

Q-tec and the usual suspects carry them

Bancroftaccessories has a nice price

I believe there are variations between model years so do your homework

I know you can get them out of the catalog at jeep. Might be a little more pricy than aftermarket but they are there.

Not to highjack, but...definately related.

Any mods on how to lock down fronts only in place...or have I just given away a million dollar idea.

Now, I'll be designing a lock all day instead of working.

Easy enough to just manufacture a 'keyed' knob for the rear threaded knob portion of the assembly. Say one of those 'puzzle key' types like used for wheel locks.

Of course a simple hole strategically drilled in the knob (while in place and tightened to the proper tightness) through the knob and the soundbar would provide a place to run a small cable (and lock) or other device to secure the knob preventing it's removal. (I think it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: Make sure you know know where and what you are drilling if you try this - I haven't tried it but suspect caution should be taken if you decided to drill through the sound bar to avoid any wiring or possible damage to the sound bar assembly)

I would buy one for sure. I love running just the front 1/2 on mine. I'm pretty paranoid about them getting stolen.

I was also thinking locks used on toolboxes and camper cargo areas mounted in the windshield latched so when engaged they hook on the footmans loop and and the latch can not be disengaged. Need to look at the way it aligns - just brainstorming.

what about some sort of locking snap on cap for the knob? If the knob was flush with the sound bar, you wouldnt have any easy way to unscrew it without a decent set of tools.

so if it was a flat piece of plastic that fit perfectly over the knob, and then off-center was a small lock cylinder that turned a plate into one side of the middle knob handle. Then you just dremel out a little area for that lock to grab in the handle. it would just need some bracing so it would stay in the knob and not twist out.

or instead of that - what about some torx screws that are the same size as the knob with a washer on the end so they fit the same as the know. Then you would at least have to have torx bits to undo them.

I replaced my driver side one after I ejected it onto the highway one night...fun. Anyway, it was $350 from moparpartsamerica.com. They seemed to have the best price for it around although their website is a little quirky. Good luck. PS> a lock idea is good although I don't fear anyone stealing mine.
