Default Front windows issue.

Has anyone here figured out the cause of the front power windows not working issue? The key off then key on trick only worked once. Then disconnected the battery for about 10 min then reconnected it. That worked once. Had a few other weird issues that were happening so figured it could be the TIPM so replaced it. That fixed a few problems but not the windows. Anyway if anyone has came across the cause and repair for this issue it would be great.

There has got to be some sort of code thrown. Could be grounds, there are many to check, or battery condition. But you need to scan for codes first.

Not sure what general "not working" issue you're referring to that everyone is experiencing. Those switches do go bad. Are you 100% certain the switch panel isn't buggin out? Some folks have harness issues, but I don't get the sense that is the case here. Without elaboration, kinda hard to tell what is going on.

There are no fault codes present. A ground issue was one of my first thoughts and have gone through and checked all grounds at the battery, engine, external chassis/firewall and in dash. All are clean and tight.

I was attempting to test the switch. With out a pin out and knowing what resistance should be seen at each pin I decided to just order a new switch assembly. Should be here in the morning. Hope that’s it because I don’t have the time to truly diag the issue. That’s why I got on here to ask. I hate throwing parts at it to see if they stick or not. Although I do believe the switch is probably the problem because I noticed that if I hit the up position for either of the front windows I hear the motors attempt to roll up but if I hit down on either there is nothing. The back windows both work fine.
thanks for your input though.

This why I am happy with old fashioned manual crank rollup windows. Yes, can be a pain with rolling down back seat windows from the drivers seat but I don't have to chase electrical gremlins or worry about switches or bad motors or relays or bad wiring. Keep It Simple Stupid fits me just fine. I hope you figure it out without too much trouble , good luck.

Back in 2013 when I bought mine brand new, I couldn't believe how hard it was to find what I wanted with power windows. I thought it was absurd how many new jeeps had manual crank windows in 2013 and in the entire DFW metroplex. I'd imagine that's changed a bit in the last decade, but even back then I was thinking "are we living in the 80's here?" That was actually one of the only options I cared about having, for the very reason of rolling down rear windows in a 4dr.

I'm having the same issue. Did the replacement switch resolve your issue?
