My low fuel light came on the other day and my mileage has seemed to get bad lately. When the light came on I pulled in and filled it up but could only get 17.7 gals in it. I have a 4 door and should have a 22.5 gal tank. Anyone else have a problem like this? I check my mileage by the division method and it worked out to be about 14.7 so not all that bad for cold weather.

 

When my light is on 17-18 gallons is all I can get into it. Seems normal to me?

 

This is normal. There have also been other threads on this. I track every single fill up and now have over 54,000 miles. I often feel I am pushing the limits, driving for 20 miles or more after the light comes on. In all of my fill ups over the last 3 yrs and 54,000 miles, less than a handful have ever been over 20 gallons.

 

My 2009 unlimited is the same way. Only takes 15 gallons if I fill up right when the low fuel warning comes on.

 

Yes many threads on this. There is a 5 gallon reserve after the light comes on.

 

My light comes on when my computer shows 40miles to empty. It says low fuel at 30 miles to empty. I've driven over 20 miles after that and could never fill more than 19.5 gallons
