Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
I had 2 TJs. Learning about JK’s through my daughter’s Jeep. I will go research but quick question in case this is simple. And I’m a 50/50 home mechanic fyi.
Big gas smell. Didn’t see any wet gas under the hood first coupe of days. Today I found the leak. I assume this is main fuel line coming in to the injector rail. Screwdriver pointing at connection. Second picture shows the connect with a blue flip up lock.
fuel line is obviously leaking 3” before the blue clamp. Can I quick fix this? Looks like fuel line runs under the intake and out back to the tank.
if I unclamp the connector am I depressurizing anything? Am I creating any sort of air lock?
I haven't had to mess with my fuel rails so i'm not sure that I can help with your original question, but I can tell you that is not some common problem we have on our JKs. odd one.
OK, thanks. It's an obvious leak...pin hole sprout right out of the rubber hose in the red circle that I put in the last picture. I snapped the blue clasp on the connector...I think it was brittle because I put minimal pressure on it. Still the connector didn't pull off easily so I assume it has a 90 degree turn to dislodge, or something similar.
Again, any help I will take. I assume i am going to replace the whole supplying fuel line from behind the engine up to the broken blue clasp connector. I am online now and about to look for the part and hopefully a repair/replace video.
Here is the Fuel Tube for a 2013 JKU 3.6L 68141849AD TUBE, Fuel Supply
From the illustrations, I can access, I could not tell if it is the leaking hose you show. Search the Net for that Part Number and maybe you can find a picture.
