Default Fun treks maps

Anyone ever load fun treks maps onto there GPS? If so. Maybe you can give me some info on how to preform this task. I know people use maps but I don't have the best navigator (wife) in the passenger seat. I have a Garmin.

If you have software and a way to connect the gps to your computer you can download the GPS files off their website. This makes it very simple, I put ALL the GPS coordinates from the Colorado and Moab book on my iPad (Motion X GPS) in a few minutes. They also have files for each trail, or you can do one large file that has them all.

If this is not an option you have to go in manually and put the coordinates in your GPS. This could take hours if your doing the whole book but usually only a few minutes if your just doing the trail or two you will run in a day.

Some Garmin GPSs are brain-dead when it comes to importing GPS data files. That's why I got rid of my Nuvi 550 and went with Backcountry Navigator Pro on a Nexus 7. It just works. Anyway, what specific Garmin are you running? May help someone to provide you the answer.

Not sure if this would help you guys or not but I found this site a while back and have learned a lot about uploading files to my Garmin handheld. GPSFileDepot - Free Custom Garmin Maps, Ximage hosting, tutorials, articles and more for your GPSr
They have a ton of files for free download with a request for donations. Their TOPO maps are pretty good and in some cases better than Garmins. I really don't need the shading that Garmin provides.
The maps are updated from time to time. They have a lot of tutorials to help you get the maps into your unit.

Now if I could just get somebody to help me figure out how to upload TOPO maps into the Uconnect 430N head unit. It is kind of weird to be dang near lost on some logging road in the middle of nowhere Oregon, its getting dark and your onboard GPS shows a blank screen under your Jeep icon. Was real glad I had brought my handheld.
