Default Funny smell

Does anyone else get a funny smell after driving their jk? I noticed this after I put on my 33's, i wonder if it is the tires or maybe the engine working a little bit harder to turn the bigger tires. I really noticed it after i went 4 wheeling in some mud, the smell was really strong, and anytime i hold in the clutch while making a turn i can smell it. Cant really describe the smell but if anyone has had this experience and has a way to fix it it would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know the answer to your question, but why do you hold your clutch in while making a turn?

16,000 miles and still smells new!
Perhaps it could be your clutch? What is your best description of the smell.

When i gear down into second before making a u-turn sometimes i can smell it (im not holding the clutch in throughout the turn), it smells a little bit like burning rubber which is why i thought it was the tires, but im not spinning them or anything so i dont think it is the tires now.

It could be several things:

1. Your passenger is passing gas every time you go around a curve--the 'ol butt cheek lean.

2. You got the clown option package--clowns always smell funny.

3. You have water in your rear tub compartment that's spilling onto the exhaust every time you go around a curve.

...sorry, it's late, I'm tired...couldn't resist.

Haha the ol butt cheek lean is possible... but that smell only comes after eating chili...

Actually I hadnt thought about mud possible being in the tranny, thats a really good point, it seems like it could be the smell (it was some nasty mud i went through).

Is there an easy way to check if it is? Also, if there is mud up there, wouldnt i feel a difference in how the jeep handles as far as shifting goes?

I've noticed a smell from the beginning too. I just figured it was the "new" burning off Honestly I have no idea. I know its not mud in the tranny but not sure what it could be.
