Default Fuse Box Cover

Hey All,

First time posting here!

I've been trying to hunt down an engine fuse box cover for my 2007 Wrangler Unlimited. The guy at the dealer never put it back on and by the time I looked under the hood a couple of days later, they had lost it.

I've ordered it from 4 different places online, but they end up cancelling because it's backordered.

Any ideas? Going to start going to salvage yards.

I would think this is the dealer's responsibility to replace for you since it sounds as though they were the ones that lost it.

They're supposed to, but a month ago it was on backorder until now, and now it's on backorder until October. Not a fan of driving in any bad weather without it.

I can see the dilemma. Have to guess that you don't have many salvage yards in the Brooklyn area either! Given the backorder time doesn't seem too bad, I'd just cover that sucker up with some Glad press 'n seal, maybe even followed by some normal saran swap and a rubber band all around for extra measure. If you were talking 6 months or something, then maybe would be reasonable to buy even a whole used fuse box to steal the cover from.

Yeah it's been a pain haha.

I was considering wrapping it but was afraid of the heat being too much and melting it. That's the last thing I'd want to happen!

I'll call around to some yards on long island to see if they have anything. Fingers crossed!

Very good point. I'm pretty resourceful so mind is always thinking. This one may be really stupid, what about forming some sort of top out of cardboard, and covering the crap out of it with simple aluminum tape?
