Gas mileage
If you drive carefully, consistently, you can get 21.5 on the hwy and 17-18 around town. Problem is when you gun in. This engine can be efficient when you want it to be but sucks gas big time when you're on the throttle too much AND there's a fine line I've found. PM me if you want to learn more about getting your mileage up (tire pressure etc) as I can go from the bay area to the nevada line and back on a single tank I've got this mileage thing for the JK down pretty good.

I now have 5760 miles on my Jk Rubicon. I super chipped it and raised it 3" the first month I owned it. I now get 14.1 mph in the city but on the open road, at 65mph w/cruse on, I get 21.8 mph. My driving habits give me an 16.9 overall average. Obliviously I do a lot more city than highway.
Don't forget to add in the Tornado into your Cold Air Intake tube....heard it's good for 2-5 MPG increase

With our JK I started to see modest increases with the motor having 12K miles on it.
Your fuel mileage should start to increase with the warmer weather and service stations removing Winter Blend Fuels.
Avg. 17 MPG City
Avg. 20-21 MPG Highway

My 2008 JK 4door "X" with Automatic (3.73 rear gear) with stock tires (on alum. 17" wheels) and no lift gets 19 mpg city and 22 mph highway (70 mph).
I drive efficiently; looking ahead to time the lights, efficient starts, moderate acceleration, feather the throttle to remain in OD (1500 RPM). It only has 5000 miles on it, and it's just now spring, so I expect mileage to improve 1MPG for both city and highway once I get more miles on it and summer temps arrive.

Im getting just a bit over 21 mpg with my 09 2dr x with a set of 265/75/16 AT tires as the only mod so far. Thats my daily commute to work thats mixed city and secondary highway. Its got around 2600 miles on it so far. Im pleasantly supprised with the milage its getting to tell you the truth. Never thought it would be that much.
