Just had mine replaced about a month ago. It isn't an official recall, then Chrysler would have to do all but it is an unlimited mileage warranty on the tank, so regardless of your JK's age or mileage they will replace it free of charge.
As stated previously, it was easy, told them the problem, they ordered the stuff, called when it came in and I dropped it off for about half a day plus to have it done. Been great ever since.

 

Finally, they are replacing my gas tank this week!

 

...and now for the bad news. As soon as the tank was replaced, I started getting the 'gascap' error. Took it back, they smoked tested it, checked everything including the O-ring, reset the system them sent me on my way. 1 fill up later- error returns. Take it back to the dealership, and they tear it apart- turns out it's a bad tank, from the factory! Replacement time since they're on backorder?

14 Weeks!!!

So, I get to live with the gascap light annoyance for several months until they can get me a new tank...

 

Same here - had to deal with a little run around - make sure you bring the TSB with you.. will be helpful.

 

I brought it to the dealership and i jusst had to tell them it happened to me 4 times 4 different gas stations and they gave me a new tank!
