I have an early 08 with about 25k miles on it and it just started doing it - every gas station I try. I thought it was just me! I never top off and no pumps in this area have the gas handle locks. One time I thought I had stopped in time and the gas 'blurped' out a bit. I definitely think it's a clogged vent somewhere - problem is my local dealer is only open until 5, no shuttle service and not sure I can arrange time from work to take it in. I will ASAP, tho. Has anyone for sure verified it's the vent hose/gas tube?
I filled out the form too.

Mine has started doing this now for the past 5 or 6 fill-ups. 2007 with 25k+ miles.
Different stations...same results. It does it no matter how fast you have the fuel flowing going...highest setting flow with the catch, or the lowest fill flow catch on the pump nozzle...it all shoots gas back out. You just don't get as much of an overfill/gush out with the lowest fill flow setting.
Wife has filled up here Dodge Dakota prior to me filling up the Jeep, and no issue for her, so at least cursory, think I could rule out the gas pump itself having a problem.
Have just started doing what others have noted doing....listening and trying to stop pumping before it is full now.
Will have to schedule a time with the dealer...will want to get it in before I run out of my warranty.

I bought my Jeep used in July with about 35000 miles. The first few tanks it did not do it, but the last three in a row at three different stations it has overflowed. Wasssup with dat?

fuel
I've had my 2010 Sport(2 door) spill fuel at fillups since i got it
If i fill it up with the handle depressed about 1/2-3/4 of the way and if i push upwards on the handle then it doesn't spill out(what a pain). I'll get it looked after when i take it in for it's first oil change(I will bring a copy of the parts that were changed out under warranty seen on this thread).
Might be a recall by the time i'm due for that oil change(i only have 2300 miles on the odometer).

I also just filled a complaint with the NHTSA
ttp://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/
*** Please everyone that is having this problem needs to report it so we can get Jeep to come up with a perminent fix ***
* also a fix that does not cost $575.00 out of my pocket with no idea if it will fix it or if the new tank will have the same trouble.
