This. Take it in and get it fixed before it gets worse.

Dealership won't fix mine!

Thanks for all of the replies. I just made an appointment with the Jeep dealership on Thurs to get this fixed. They didn't know what they would have to do to fix this when I asked, but said to leave it with them all day. I'll update this thread with the outcome of this repair. Obviously I am not the only one with this problem. Shame on Jeep for not issuing a recall and allowing environmental and safety hazards to continue. BTW my jeep is a 2008 with about 27,000 miles.

Contact Chrysler. There is a TSB on this. What they do is replace the tank. The dealer has to fix it. This is a widely known issue.

Dealers have a TSB on this. Chrysler instructs them to replace the tank. I guess they didn't feel like looking it up.

I'll try Chrysler. My dealership absolutely says no.

I specifically told them about recall/tsb. Still said no. Mine is also a 2008.

I just mentioned to my dealer last month that gas would spill out only at one gas station and they replaced the gas tank on my 2008 no charge.

I had mine replaced on my 08 at around 21,000 miles. No charge other than some aftermarket parts that had to be moved due to my lift.

Definately go back to them. Mine is an '08 and they told me I have lifetime warranty on the tank when they looked it up do to this issue. Try a different dealership if you need to but it is covered.
