I sank my stock jk on driver side, water half way up door on the whole side...while being pulled out towards front right side my hood came up and trunk sank in deeper than i got out...no problems until the next day when i started it and it flashed gascap, two days later check engine light came on and my scanner said it was emissions/gas cap loose...has this happened to anyone before? any suggestions?

 

Try resetting it by Un hooking battery cables and holding them together for a few sec.

 

Most likely something in the evap system got pulled loose underneath while you were being pulled out.

It could be as simple as the gas cap, though. Have you checked it for security and condition?

The gas cap code comes on if an evap leak is detected right after the gas tank has been filled, because that's when the gas cap is most likely to be the cause of a leak.

 

I heard about that its raining right now i might try it later...i heard it could be water in evap canister but im not sure where its located

 

I filled up before i hit the trails and by the time i got out i was at 3/4 of a tank so i thought maybe it leaked our when i was on that angle...?
