gASCAP ERROR and check engine light?
Greetings - looking for advice. gASCAP error showed up on my odometer display followed by a check engine light. Same day jeep just stopped running as I was turning a corner. It immediately cranked back up.
Took it to the dealer. Service guy didn't seem very knowledgeable. Tells me in a rambling voicemail that "some" valve needs to be replaced inside the gas tank and because it's inside the tank the entire tank needs to be replaced.
My BS detector went off and I'm probably going elsewhere BUT I'm not well versed in fuel system problems. So 2 questions: does anyone know what valve this might be and second if it is indeed a problem in the tank, would simply replacing the tank include the valve already?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
