That sucks. I always thought that the JK sheet metal was paper thin, but damn, I was shocked to see the panel warped. At least I'm glad to hear that it wasn't the weight that warped it.

The roof rack looks good though. I like the shorter rack on the JK. I don't like the long racks, especially on 4-door JKs. I think they look like a Central American chicken bus.

Get the JK. It'll be well worth it. I've got the 4 door, and if you fold down the back seats, there's plenty of room to fit the bike. You might even be able to fit it with the seats folded up. I've got the 3.73 gears, and I'm seeing good (at least for a JK) gas mileage. I'm hovering right around 19mpg - I have the 3.73 gears.

Get the JK!

Here's another idea.

Have you ever heard the statement from the dealer "What can I do to earn your business"? If you live relatively close to a dealer that is customer friendly mention to the salesman what your reservations are with getting all your stuff in the jeep. More than likely they will let you take a test ride to your house where you can try it firsthand.

I had an issue with a truck one time wondering if I could get it in my garage and how my canoes and other gear would fit. No problem said the salesman and off we went to my house to find out. The first truck didn't end up fitting in the garage so I didn't buy that one but did end up buying a shorter one that did.

Win / Win on both sides.

I've packed camping gear, snowboards, bikes all in the back (seats down). No worries and still lots of room for my other stuff.

I love my JK! Never going back to a GM (former Blazer owner)!

Kind of funny how many of us moved over from the GM family. I had an S-10 blazer for quite a few years in high school, and my wife still drives an Olds Bravada. While the jeep is no where near the cushy comfort of the Bravada, it is way more fun offroad. I think spacewise, they are very close to the same behind the seats. If I get a chance, I'll take a tape measure to my wife's SUV to verify.

Speaking of GM and converting over, sorry for the slight hijack, but some reads of my post:

would be much obliged!
