Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
I picked up a slightly used hard top but it did not come with the top "Freedom" panels. Top is from a 2018 JK and resides nicely on my '07 JK. Except for the lack of roof panels...
I am now looking to pick up the panels. Are there any differences between the panels for a JK vs. a JKU? I would think they would be the same as the JK/JKU would have the same measurements between the windshield and the B pillar/roll bar. Reason I ask is I have seen quite a few classified ads on CL, FB, etc saying they panels fit either model hard top. I'd like some definitive clarification before I go look as a road trip would be involved. Would hate to make a trip only to find the panels don't fit.
Thanks for any help.

The 2dr and 4dr freedom panels are the same.
Get the later model panels if you can, they have the added front hold down.
You will have to move the center footman loop over to the left to utilize the clamp, but the panels will seal better.
You can do it yourself and cut the original trim panel, or you can get the Mopar 82212462 retrofit kit to relocate this footman loop to the left, making it compatible with the later style freedom panels.
I'll post the instructions so you see what needs to be done.
Good luck, and be safe.
