Default Hardtop to soft top.....

I bought my '08 JK with a hardtop only. Of course, now I want to run a soft top. I recently purchased a new soft top and frame from ebay and want to make sure I have everything I need to accomplish this. What other parts may I need?

I have: Top and windows
Frame for the top
Door Surrounds
A nylon strap

I hear about retaining bars for the front and rear, as well as brackets. Just want to have everything before I start this endeavor, as it is winter and though I'm in SoCal...it does rain here every now and again. Thanks for your help.

You'll need the rear window bar and the two rear window bar retainer/retaining clips. I'm also assuming the top hase a windsheild header bar sewn in already. If not, you'll need one of those, too. Find some BestTop instructions. They should show all the parts. I think Quadratec's and BestTop's websites have them in PDF format for download.

I love my soft top. Luckily I don't live where it snows a lot so it works well for me. Even though I have a 2-door, I really like the look of the 4 door topless!

Thank you for the input...Looks like I need to get a retaining bar for the rear gate. As always JK Forum has the answers. Much appreciated.

I just did the same thing....hard top to soft. The only things I had to get that the seller forgot was the screws (maybe called pins) for the door surrounds.

Where did you get the screw? Were they available through Quadratec, as well?

The door surrounds I got from Quadratec did not come with the hardware. So I'll have to figure something out.
