Default Have 2010 thinking about getting 2012, pros-cons

Is there a real big advantage on the 2012 over 2010?? The one I am thinking about getting is allready lifted and has 35's on them how does the 2012 fair with 35's and 3.73 gears??

Not sure about 3.73 but my big thing was there was no need to regear with 35s and 4.10 on the 2012. I ahd a 2010 with 35s and it was a dog. The 2012 is much improved in that regard. Interstate trips in my 2010 were bad. Never got to overdrive, now my 12 never leaves overdrive. makes up about 3.5 to 4.0 MPG at 75 or 80. I dont think you will regret it

For freeway driving it's a completely different vehicle. Just traded a 2011 for a 2012 Rubicon. Night and day. Pre 2012 work well for much of what people use a jeep for, but if you spend much time on the highway or as a daily driver the 2012 is worth the trade.

Default Trade up, if you can afford it!

Trade up if you can afford it! You will get an in crease in HP of approximately 40%. With the bigger tires/weight
you will be happy. Also, it depends if you get out and really do some serious off-road driving/mudding. The extra HP is nice.
I test drove the 2012 and it was a really big jump in "quickness".

Later,
Keith

I had 3.73's with 35's on an auto 2012 and it drove much better than my 2011 did with 5.38s and same tires. I just regeared to 4.10 when I installed arb's becuase I had the gears laying around and just did them myself. I wouldn't worry about it - it will be fine with the 3.73's
