silly noob question ive already replaced the thermo stat as mine is doing similar issues with the temp gauge reading 1\4 low most of the time but the jeep is not overheating etc. ive got the sensor just need to replace it. i dont think you need to drain the fluid to change the temp sensor correct?

Some fluid will escape when you remove the sensor. If you are really quick, no problem. Otherwise, drain to below that level.

(cold engine, only)
