Default Headlight control?

Hi
Been lurking on the forum for a while and decided to make my first post. Just got an 08 2DR JK and I looked through the manual for any clues but didn't find anything. Unlocking the Jeep, the Headlights turn on, and at night, after turning off everything, they stay on as well. I guess it's like security lighting.... Anyway to disable this?

On another topic... Does anyone have an Airaid or similar intake and how they like it, is it worth the $200 + to buy it?

Thanks all... love the forum

Danny

On mine, turning the headlights off, THEN turning the key off, the headlights stay off.
If I turn the key off, THEN the headlights off, they will stay on for a while.
Turning off the "headlights on when unlocking" feature has been looked into, with no option for that found (that I am aware of). I am still watching for a way to do that.

there is a way to do it... I borrowed a StarScan and its under customer options.. the factory delay is 90 seconds, I changed it to zero

But oddly, If I press the unlock button twice, they still turn on.

Welcome to the site. I've had my AIRAID on for about 12K miles, and think it was worth the money... your mileage may vary.

Flick your light switch off twice, they will stay off. It depends on how far forward your dome lite ring onthe stalk is turned to control the time. Nothing in the manual though...Who knows? LOL

Thanks for the answers guys...

Tinman, I thought the headlight stalk with the dial had something to do with it. It seems crazy because if you adjust your dash light, it will affect the outside lighting timer.
Oh well, guess I'll live with it. I have been turning everything off before I get out like Ronjenx says....

Racer, I don't have access to a StarScan!! lol

MJS Thanks for your input on the Airaid... I think I'll pull the trigger and get one

Thanks again guys....
PS Love that Jeep of mine!!! But no friggin' storage.. LOL

I installed the airaid and love it. Great sound, and improved gas milage, and a modest increase in power.
