Heat cooler on driver side

My heat on the 2 driver side vents are cooler than the passenger side. Any idea what could be wrong.

Could be normal or could be something. How different are they? A better indicator would be air flow. As long as you're getting about the same air flow I would say it's normal. The vents are incredibly insulated so it would stand to reason the longer stretch would be less effective as the shorter. Unfortunately I run the AC year round since moving to Houston and I don't recall how it was back home in Utah.

Interesting that you posted this issue as I just noticed a similar situation on my daughters '13 2dr. I haven't driven her jeep in a while and had to drop it off to her at her work last weekend when I noticed that the dash vent by the window on the drivers side was blowing cool air while everything else was blowing warm air and this was the whole time I was driving the Jeep. Still confused over how this is possible and oddly it is now operating fine or at least was when I borrowed her Jeep again the other day so I will have her monitor it a bit.

2013 Sahara

My '13 2 door has the same issue. On the driver side floor the air is much cooler than the passenger side. Is there any other readers having this problem? Is there a fix?

JK Heating issue

Hey guys, I have a 2011 and this started happening to me in 2014. After a little research on the google I found out that a number of JK owners have had this same issue. I found out that a number of JK owners had to replace their heater core and their radiators in order to fix the issue. That was more than I wanted to spend. I took it to a shop that could back flush my HVAC system. It was a $150.00 bandaid that has lasted to this point. Chrystler is known for not cleaning their engine blocks well after casting them. That's why there is residual sand in the block, and ultimately the radiator/HVAC system. I hope this helps and hopefully you can get by with the back flush and not have to replace the Radiator and Heater core.

BeattyJK can you explain how replacing these items effects the blower side of the heater system, I'm lost and doesn't make sense to me. The issue you describe would create overheating issues not different air temps at one of two dash vents so if you can elaborate.

This seem familiar?

Thanks Rednroll thats dead on with my issue unfortunately there is no follow up with the solution. The warranty is out on my daughters Jeep for these issues so I want to find the solution before taking it in if I take it in.

Edit:
Just looked at this video on youtube and all of the reply's and can't believe that the dealers are telling customers to replace the core and radiators prior to just flushing and replacing the blend doors first. Typical just give us your cash mentality.

I must have miss-understood your original post Bud, It sounded like you were having issues with a sever temp difference from Passenger side to driver side. If that is the case then your Heater core may not be producing enough heat when you need it too. If your issue is that you are not experiencing the same air pressure between passenger and driver sides then your issue could be the flanges and blower motor as mentioned earlier in the post. Do what i did and google it, there are a number of other Wrangler specific posts where this is happening. Good luck on the fix

You are correct that it is a large temp difference between the one vent and the others it just didn't make sense to me at the time about the heater core effecting only one vent. I have looked a bit more and it looks like the main two issues that could be causing this are 1) slightly blocked core and 2) air blending unit. I will have to check the Jeep out further to see.
