Default Heated Seats & Remote Start

I have a 2012 Wrangler with factory heated seats & remote start. Is there any way to set the heated seats to automatically turn on when started by remote?

I know my wife's GM does it automatically when it gets below a certain temp... It has to be programmed in the computer somehow.

sent while the wife wasn't looking...

I dont believe the heated seats on the Jeep can do this.. I was told by the dealer service department that the heated seats go through the TIPM and theres no way to "hard code" the to come on..

my honda had hard switches for them so the seats would come on if you left them on when you got out.. you may be able to install hard switches on the seat controller.. not sure...

my GM (chevy volt) has options in the configure screens for auto heated seats also...

Just tonight I used remote start on my JK, and when I got in it my EVIC said it was 37 out, which might be the coldest when I've used remote start. Anyways, I noticed my rear defrost was activated, which I've never noticed before. I was wondering if there was a certain temp that the seats would automatically turn on too. That would be a nice feature, should have been an option in the EVIC.

Not that I've noticed. Had it 11* here and just rear defrost. Supposed to hit 1* this friday. I check it then

#firstworldproblems

I live in CO and can say that yes, when temps drop below a certain point the jeep will activate defrost and heated mirrors automatically. Additionally the fan will blow on the highest setting, then when you open the drivers door it will return to whatever the knob is set at. It's -8 degrees here right now. No way I've found to get the seats to kick on.

It's been -30 degrees Celsius here in Alberta this past week. Rear defrost comes on but no heated seat. Too bad.

If you can find someone who is handy with electronics then they can make a circuit to turn the seat heater on when you get the power command coming down the line from the remote start.

You just need to find the right person.
