I checked and the linkage is connected. Any ideas what it might be..?

Ok got it into 4wd high manually and now it at least moving..

Ok got it to 2wd h !!! But I think the proven is that cable snapped... Dammit!

Advance adapters has a nice replacement. Don't waste your money in the factory one.

The same crappy plastic retaining clip is used on both sides of the cable. If the cable was connected to the transfer case then it must have come off on the lever side. Remove the center console and check the lever. The clip is $.50 at the dealership.

Oh that's good info. I'll definitely open it up and cross my fingers that's the problem...

Yep, many of us have had this issue; alot of us (myself included) carry a couple of spare clips in the glovebox for the next time it happens).
