Help removing rubicon decals
Step by step decal removal.
Get a plastic razor blade or a real one if you're feelin' lucky.
Clean the area of decal to be removed.
Use a heat gun to warm up the vinyl. Doesn't need to be hot, just warm. Keep the heat gun moving from about 2' away.
Use razor blade to lift a corner of vinyl enough that you can grab it with your fingers.
Peel the vinyl away from itself, not over itself. This will help minimize the amount of leftover residue.
If the vinyl breaks, increase heat. If it starts to stretch to much, decrease heat. Keep in mind, a heat gun will burn stuff, even after you put it down.
Remove all of the vinyl lettering.
Spray leftover residue (if any) with Rapid Remover. Let sit for 2 minutes and wipe clean. Microfibre cloths are great for this.
Wipe the area clean with a wax/grease remover or at least alcohol and wipe dry before applying new decal.
Best adhesive remover is Rapid Remover. It's citrus based and does not harm paint. Use it in a well ventilated area. Trust me, the hangover sucks.

^ What he said.... Go to Napa, they carry them. Spend the $20 and get the wheel. Put it in a drill and your decals will be gone and your hood will be chemical free. The wheel will last for years, and you'll be suprised how often you use it once you have it.
I used to work for Coke stocking grocery shelves and there were price stickers on 2 liters that would fall off. My partner on the truck told me and have been removing decals and glue for many years with it. It won't harm the clear coat or the paint because it's not as bad as other stuff
