Default Help with squealing, please

Ok, I have a 2012 JK Rubicon, auto. Here's the problem. After a few hundred miles of break in, I noticed the "chirping" driving around town bouncing off cars and bldgs to my right with windows down. Didn't think much of it, figured suspension was just creaking from rough streets. At about a thousand miles on odo, I was driving around and heard a constant squealing, high pitched squeaking sound that seemed to come from the passenger side rear of the Jeep. I seached the forums for some quick fixes. I had been on gravel roads, so I thought of that. Didn't seem to notice any rocks getting in anywhere. Plus, the squealing doesn't seem to happen constantly, I have to drive some for it to start up again. I pulled the pass. rear tire and checked the brakes. Pads and everything looked normal to me. I looked at the drive shaft boots and the seals appeared perfect as they are new. I didn't notice any grease anywhere. The front and rear differentials were warmed up, but seemed normal temp with no fluid leaks. Next I messed with the parking brake. I let it coast forward and reverse several times and applied/released brake. It seemed to work normal and wasn't hanging up and dragging. I checked the springs and everything seemed to be releasing properly.

All this took some time in the garage, now it's about 3am, so I take it back out and no squeal....until it got warmed back up and started squealing again. So, I took it in to the dealer on Thurs. and told them the issues and told them to do what they could in the next few days as I was going to be out of town.

Picked it up yesterday after talking to the service center. They took it out a couple of times, but could not replicate what I had been hearing. Which is what I really expected to hear. So, to prove to myself that I was right, I went for another little drive mostly around town. After about 40 miles, guess what? The squealing was back. I had my brother riding with and he heard it too. I'm kind of deaf, so it is noticable.

Any suggestions on what to do next? I plan taking it back to the dealer again tomorrow, but if it's something that I can do at home, I'd rather save the headache.

Thanks.

I had them same issue on my 08. Mine turned out the be the brake pad clips. After replacing them and adding a little axle grease on and around the clips (avoiding the pad and rotor) I have had no problems.

That definitely sounds like something else to check. That's about all I didn't try, but had seen it a couple of times in my searches. Thanks.

My 2011 is doing the same thing. Had it to the dealership 5 times now. They can't figure out what it is. Any input would be great. I have no clue.

I took it in two separate times as well.

Default update

Took the Jeep back in to the dealer. This time I was able to take a tech with me to simulate the situations when I'm getting the noises. Thankfully, he heard it too.

After a couple of days trying everything they could think of, they were getting just as frustrated trying to get to the cause. They eventually replaced the front right wheel hub and bearing and axle shaft.

Well, it seems the problem has been solved. I don't have many miles on it since the fix, but I haven't heard anything. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
