My jeep is currently at a parking lot, I'll try fixing it tomorrow. What if the problem is between the Lever inside the Jeep to the cable?

Ok, gotcha. I bet the clip is the problem. I think I've read a thread about a linkage break inside the Jeep, but I'd be a little bit surprised if that is what you have going on.

Anyone else have some thoughts on this?

I am betting it is the tcase lever as I have experience with this. The FIRST NIGHT I had mine I had been running around showing peeps and enjoying the weather. I pull up to a steep berm to do a little "urban" wheeling and go to put it in 4 lo and pop....T Case stuck in neutral and stranded. Had to call roadside service to have it towed to the nearest dealership. The guy showed up and I explained what the issue was and he got under there and put it in 2 hi and I drove it to the dealership the next day. Better than having it towed in my book. Took about 30 min to fix. So after that I treat the lever with kid gloves not forcing it.

I wonder if an e-clip would work in place of that plastic clip to hold the shifter cable on?, from what I understand there is a groove that the plastic clip fits onto.
I believe the clip was designed to break before any internal damage to the t-case is done when not being shifted properly. I have been lucky enough to not have it break as it has always slid into 4-lo without any fuss.

I wonder if my t-case lever broke because of improper changing? Is it true you can go from 2wd to 4wd at any speed? Because I swapped a lot lately to 4L from 4H from a dead stop because of hills and a mud hole. I know your suppose to be going like 2-4 mph when swapping from 4H to 4L but it goes to neutral and by the time it lets me move to 4L the Jeep is no longer in motion. Do you have to be in neutral "gear wise" when swapping modes"? Such as in 2H to 4H and 4H to 4L does your stick have to be in the neutral position?

2-hi to 4 hi you can be going up to 45 (I believe that's right, it's in the manual) with it in gear. 4-hi to 4-lo slightly rolling with it in neutral, same way from 4-lo back to 4-hi.
