I rewired my system for the dual-batteries, but pretty sure that the positive goes to the TIPM. As for the negative: I know I moved mine to the hood to replace the uninsulated ground braid, but can't for the life of me remember where it came from.

I'm trying to back into the answer on the negative one by reading the install directions for the dual-battery kit, but not having a lot of luck. I think that the negative I ran to the hood actually came off the inner fender wall because the instructions say to cut it off. So I just routed it up to the hood since it is insulated. Of course, you would still want that to run to your inner fender, since you don't have a second battery cabled up for system ground. As for that last negative, the instructions say to just use the image to wire everything back up. Here's the image; perhaps it will help you. I'm wondering if it, too, doesn't go to the TIPM ...

Often times there is a wire to the engine block, but I haven't been able to follow mine. :-(

BTW, it's expensive--very expensive--but if I were to replace my battery harness I'd pull off all of the OEM wiring loom and use Roundit 2000. It has better durability, and it's split so you can easily use it over existing cables without removing cable ends. That OEM stuff just dries up and falls apart after a few years.

I told you about that only to let you know how my configuration is different than OEM. You shouldn't need to make any changes to the braided ground.

I tried my best to follow the black OEM harness cable wire. Here's an image of that part of the harness ...

From there it disappears behind the block, headed down (after the red wire to the alternator splits off that harness) ...

I suspect that it connects up to the starter motor solenoid ...

If I'm correct about the starter solenoid, these procedures may prove useful ...
