herculiner the outside of the hard top
I tried searching and could not find a post has anyone used herculiner on their hardtop. I recently made a custom front bumper and bought a qt of herculiner to cover it with. I like the way it looks when brushed on its much thicker then when its rolled on. I ended up buying a second quart to redo the fenders I bought off a forum member because it went on so much thicker and my fenders no longer matched my bumper. I will try and add some pics tonight.
Ive been thinking about bed lining the hard top as it is always getting scratched. I know its not going to add that much weight but it will add more drag to the bricks we drive. just cant find a pic or response to someone who has pulled the trigger on doing this. my only concerns are looks and whether or not the leading edge will hold up to hwy speeds over time.
I use the panels as a bikini top in the summer so the hard top goes on the end of Sept and comes off in March or so depending on weather.
any links or experiences you have will be appreciated.

My top was khaki and I hated it so I sprayed it with rustoleum bedliner. It looks great and close to stock. I might go over it again with duplicator cause it's a little darker and thicker. Sorry no pics on my phone. I saw a thread where someone used the roll on type and it looked really chunky and gross IMO.

I wouldn't put that on your top. It might hold up to the wind in front but if it doesn't that's that - you'll be fighting it forever. IMO - save it for your side steps. I bought a whole gallon for a tire carrier / rear bumper project, so I had a 'little' left over. I was tempted to use it in so many ways but in the end I used it as undercoating and the inside floors (I tore the useless carpet out long time ago). It's held up great so far, besides deadening the road noise.
All said - it's your Jeep and do with it as you please.
