Hit an obstaclel in a JK
Have a 2011 JK that i will be trading in on the 2014 if I go for it. Hit an obstacle in the road and now the steer wheel is 90* off center but going straight down the road. Traction control is lite up. Going to have it check out at the end of the week. Was told possible drag link, pit-man arm or steering box. Any one have this happen? Possible of cost to repair?
A wrench and 5 minutes of your time. (unless you bent something. But you can still straighten the steering wheel)
Go up to the JK Writeups area, click the Index link at the top. Now scroll down - (these links are still broke) - so scroll down to either the steering or troubleshooting areas, find the Basic Do It Yourself Alignment writeup. Click the green link under the picture.

As long as it is not really bent, you could simply straighten the wheel and keep on trucking. Here is a good write up on straightening the wheel. Only difference is when I had my stock drag link, no way I could turn it by hand and usually used a pipe wrench after loosening the bolts: Basic Do-it-Yourself Jeep JK Wrangler Front End Alignment
