Hole in interior

Hole in interior
I searched for this answer but couldn't find it. What is the hole right in front of the rear wheel well on the inside of the 2dr. It has a piece of cloth tape stuff over it and its on both sides. Does it have a purpose? Is it for like a speaker or something? Thanks

my 4 dr has a piece of that tape stuff covering a hole on each side at the REAR of the back fender near the tailgate. i took the tape off when i got it line-x'd. i guess i have two more makeshift drain holes now...lol

One of my first threads, I actually "3M" taped narrow speaker covers over these holes filled with yellow insulation, as I run with rugs/plugs removed. Shortly thereafter I found one of the speaker covers removed, lying on the ground at the mall. Some thief was pissed, thought it would be an easy score. Still have no idea, thought they were meant for an option I didn't have at the time.
