Mine was built in January '09 but the hood lift passing an oncoming semi can be right down unnerving!

I haven't done it yet even though I got the notice a while back. I wanted to know what the replacement looks like. If it's pretty much the same then I was going to get the daystar ones. Thanks to the info

My passenger hood latch snapped off while driving on the highway, it just broke in 2. It wasn't a pleasant drive home for 3 hours on the highway had to keep it under 100kms. I wasn't sure if the one latch would hold considering the one snapped.

I'm going to go to the dealership this week to see what they say.

I got drake hood latches. They look awesome and secure the hood far better than stock.

Can't beat the daystars. Maintains the jeep look and they don't budge one bit. And they're not expensive.

The hood flutter on my '10 was very unnerving. I just installed a set of Rampage locking hood latches. No more flutter. If there is one complaint it's that they pull the hood down very tight to the fenders at the front edge. I'm going to see about installing some rubber bumpers to gain a little space there.

If you remove the hood spring it will get rid of the flutter. I didn't believe it until I tried it. I read about it in another thread on here.

That was one of the first things I did to my jk and it did not help what so ever. I ended up going with the drake hood pins and solved the problem even at 80+ mph passing on coming trucks I have no flutter.
