Default Hood locks

I've noticed that when I go down the highway my hood begins to shake and rattle with upstarts of wind, it doesn't make a noise, but it does make me wonder if anyone has had a hood fly up on them while driving. And if you have heard of it any suggestions?

I read on here to remove the spring under the hood; I tried it and now the hood stays down and doesn't move at all.

This has been addressed a good amount. If you search there are some cheap mods to fix it, or you could buy the daystar hood lacks for $30 at most online sites. My 2010 has not had it, and the 2010 latches are supposed to be tighter than the years before. My brother has the daystars on his 08 and I need to hit the gym before I can open his hood!

There are several options to remedy hood "flutter". Daystar hood wranglers replace the factory rubber with material that's stiffer. Then there are different "race inspired" mechanical lockdowns that can be pricey. Do a search on quadratechs website for prices and pics.

As they said above. I have a 2010 and had lots of hood flutter. I invested in the Daystars and glad I did. At first it is hard to latch the hood closed, but after the first few times your good. It does recommend you install in 70+ degree so the latches will stretch a little, but not impossible to latch if you don't. What's $25 for piece of mind.

I have a 2011 and my hood stays put. My buddy has an '08 and it dances around a little bit. Maybe look at getting some of the 2011 hood latches. I will say that the 2011s are stiffer material than the 2008s. It takes some effort to get them closed and don't get your finger in there like I did one time! OUCH!

I have a 2008 and it does seem to flutter a bit. Granted, it only does this when the wind catches it just right going down the highway...either way, it's annoying. I will definitely be looking at replacing them in the near future, and I will most likely bounce for the Drakes.
