Default Hood pad?

Just noticed I don't have a hood pad while I was putting on light guards. This is my first jeep and I've only had it a few weeks. That normal for a 16 jku?

You mean this part?

Jeep - Hood to Fender Bumper - Fits 2002 to 2016 Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited - 4WD.com

It wouldn't be normal for it to be missing on a new Jeep. Dealer should take care of it under warranty.

I don't have any of those nubbers, but I think the OP may be talking about the hood liner- heat and sound dampening material?? That is not standard on all vehicles, though I can't say what constitutes having one.

Sorry I meant the actual liner on the underside of the hood. From what I can find so far is that they don't come on all. Saharas get them I guess. Weird

Your right to notice some do, some don't. Some years have them more often than other years. I haven't figured out the pattern yet. An underwood light was often an included freebe too! I have a 2008 jk rubi with the hood insulation. A friend has the same but never got the insulation. Let me know what you figure out on this jeep cost cutting mystery!

I work for ford. I've been at a few different assembly plants, and not one has ever sold a vehicle without a hood pad/liner. Yes I'm a traitor I know, but I love the wrangler. Just caught me off guard that jeep did. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something

They are also not all the same pattern. My Jeep came without one. Replaced hood with another one after hail damaged it. It had one. That one got pretty torn up by my clumsiness putting the hood up (the holding rod can get into the fabric and tear it). A friend had an undamaged one that he gave me. When I put it on, the holes for various parts were in different places. Go figure. It eventually got torn up and, since my Jeep didn't have one brand new, I just took it off and tossed it. More hassle than it's worth. I have noticed that the new ones look a little bit better constructed: The fabric is a tighter weave so that grazing it with the hood support rod may not gouge into the fabric. And the hood hail damage? Yeah, it happened again twice more, one of which I had it paintless repaired. But after the last one I decided to just leave it be. The first two times it happened in my driveway. The third time it happened running from an F5 tornado ...
