I actually thought the horn wasn't that bad. Mine is pretty loud.

I had to lay on the horn this afternoon as a cherokee attempted to merge into me on the toll road.

I was surprised at the sad duck song that came out from under the hood.

(yet, it did the job (along with the brakes) and a collision was avoided)

I just removed my horn today and replaced with a Stebel Air horn.

I went to my local auto parts store and pick up a PAIR of 'super loud' horns. It was a real easy swp with just basic wiring and creative placement with the supplied bracket. It's much easier to do if you remove the grill.

In all it sounds 200% better - like a real horn should. I installed the factory orig piece on my lawn tractor and it still sounds like a wheezing goat.

Anybody know where the wire is that powers the horn? I would like to just cut it and rewire to a new more powerful horn that I will mount behind my bumper (and probably ruin the first time I go through water, but I am impatient and can't find another place!). I figure if I leave the factory horn there, I could, if necessary, reconnect one day. Any pics would be great...I am a visual kind of guy.

I work with a guy who salvaged train horns from a scrap yard and put them on his Tundra, they are so loud you would be insane to put them on anything that doesn't have superior sound proofing.

We have mounted them all kinds of places, it doesn't matter where they are, but when you hit those things its loud enough at 120psi to make you dizzy and sick.

I installed the PIAA 400/500hz. horns and it's an easy mod. You don't need a relay for this set up. Check it out on you tube, PIAA horns on a JK. Big difference.
