Default Hot Brakes

After driving for about an hour, I get out and touch the front rotors and they seem real hot. Both sides. Do you all have hot rotors. Not sure if this is normal. Just asking.

Yes, they do get hot during normal driving that includes stops. When calipers start to seize, they get much hotter. A couple years ago I could tell I had a sticky caliper because after I stopped, then Jeep would tend to not roll again after I took my. Foot off the brake. I used a cheap non contact thermometer the measure the rotors. Three of the rotors were down around 120 degrees and one was up close to 200. So I knew which one was bad.

^^^ Ditto Rob_... Are both HOT? How many miles are on your rig? How many miles on the brakes since replaced?

Those little infrared thermometers are handy to have around, and this is a great use for em.....don't even have to get dirty to check.

I love using those for troubleshooting. I’ve saved so much time diagnosing engine issues by finding the hot/cold cylinder with a thermometer.
