Default Hot tubes behind center dash

There are two silver tubes that run up behind the center dash, and they get extremely hot. What are these tubes for?

There's hot engine coolant in them to make your heater work:

When it's cold they will rattle until they warm up. You can access them by removing the glove box and put a piece of thin rubber between the two and zip tie them together to get rid of the rattle.

This is what I am planning on doing to mine. Mine rattles bad.

PVC heat resistant tubing is your best bet.
