How do I convince the wifey?
Okay so, a little while ago I started a thread about possibly changing my 5 speed auto for a 6 speed manual, because that's what I really want. Now since we have 3 kiddos my wife suggested that we upgrade my two door to the 4, in which case I'm fine with, but my wife loves jeeps too but wants to get another auto so she can drive as she can't and Will not learn to drive a stick (she's Puerto Rican and stubborn) but i love her with all my heart, anyways I'm thinking I will just accept the fact I'm getting another 5 speed auto, but is there any if at all hope that I can convince her to let me get a 6 speed with out her getting upset?
Go to someone that has a stick shift car and break your leg and she will have to learn how to drive stick and I'm sure she will enjoy it! Haha you just have to think about that plan a little more.
My wife never wanted me to buy manuals because she always had problems learning to drive them while pulling out on hills. I showed her info about the hill start assist and was able to convince her that way.
I just picked up my 2014 on Thursday, and while my wife hasn't driven it yet, she's optimistic she won't have any problems.
I will readily admit, the 3.6 and a 6 speed is A LOT of fun to drive and am glad I ordered a manual this time.

Has she driven a 6-speed? We had the same thing going until my wife drove one. It was so easy to drive that she was OK with it.
Turns out we got an automatic after all, and glad we did - but the manual had a green light if we'd wanted one.

No ignorance to forgive, a question is a question. Anyway, hill start just holds brake pressure for a short time after you let off the brake, giving you a bit of time to manipulate your clutch and throttle effectively while prohibiting rollback.
