Default How do I ID my axles....35 or 44?

I have a 07 2dr X 6spd with the C pkg. Trying to figure out if I have the dana 35 or dana 44 rear. Any suggestions? or picture references? (already did a search)

P.S. - New to Jeeps. Just bought mine Friday. Came from stagnet with quite a few years in a 1998 & 1970 mustang. Glad to be aboard. Seems like a lot of info on this site.

If you have the tow package with 4.10 gears, you have a 44. Otherwise, it is a 35.

http://www.nationwideparts.com/differentials.htm

I was told that all 6 speeds come with the d44 rear, but you can always refer to the link or google dana identificantion differential covers.

As far as your gear ratio, lift up the rear put it on jacks spin the drive shaft until the tire makes 1 complete rotation. If your shaft spins 4 times you have the 4.10, if it spins less than 4 than youre looking at the 3.21

From what I understand all JK'S come with the dana 44 the 35 has been discontinued. The Rubicon 44 front and rear... the X with 30 front and 44 rear.

the d35 is an oval case with a rubber fill plug. the d44 has angles, and a threaded metal fill plug. there will be a tag held on the left side of the diff cover with the diff cover bolts that will read the gear ratio. (i.e 3 21, 4L10) the L will signify a limited slip in the rear, if it's present.

Any pics anywhere? Just so that when asked I know for sure, and not look like an idiot when proved wrong?

Should be stated on the window sticker. At least mine was under Optional Equipment.
