as stated... its easy... 2x button press, don't have to hold it down.
DONT FORGET TO TELL ANY CHILDREN IN THE HOUSE NOT TO PLAY WITH YOUR KEYS!!!!!!! ask me how I know.....

It will turn itself off after a certain period of time with no activity. YOu also do not have to turn the car off upon entry to start driving. Just put key in and turn on. In my tahoe, you had to turn off the car with the key and restart.
