How do I remove the rear bumper?
I'm going to install my new hitch and I need some guidance. It is appreciated!
|
Crawl under it and take out the 4 bolts. If I remember correctly, there are only 2 on each side. Really really easy. And the bumper weights nothing, so don't be worried about it falling in you.

Theirs a few more bolts in the center one on top and one on bottom I think.

Not sure if you have to remove the bumper to install a hitch. But as stated above, super easy. Just a few bolts with 5/8th socket i believe. Some on each side, and two in the middle

Fast forward to the 2:57 minute mark. It's the only video I found.

I removed mine with a tree,(or at least part of it) but that dosnt sound like the prefered method.

Mopar has the nuts welded on the frame of the hitch, but not all models do.
There are a few bolts on the underside and the 2 z stylized brackets can stay mounted on the bumper, just undo them from the crossmember. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk |
I removed my bumper tonight to do something else and I think I bent or flexed the center brackets and there is now some "play" or "flex" in my bumper. I am wondering if this was like that already or if I did something?
