Default How do I remove the stock front shock?

So I'm installing my FT 3" kit tonight, and we got to the part where you remove the front shocks and there's a nut on top of the top shock that I can't get to. Does anyone have any tips/tricks on getting this out?

As it turns out, the rubber bushing on the top of the shock was mushed off the washer, which was causing the problem. It just took some brute force man strength to get in there to get the wrench on the nut lol

Just in case anyone else with problems sees this, I recommend getting a set of GearWrenches (specifically the Ratchet)...they've made several things easier to work on in my opinion....the front shock mounts in-particular.

those ratchet wrenches are something I've ended up buying two sets of... wish the 'X' handle ones would have come out before I bought my first conventional set. Still good to have back ups

the conventional ones are great for using to gain leverage too. You stick the eye through one of the forks on the wratcheting one and you get nice leverage for breaking free =)
