Default how do i replace a snapped off ABS sensor??

the abs sensor has snapped off inside the hub front driver side 07 4dr. since it is already broken, would yall think i could just drill it out with correct size drill bit???

also, now i have to replace the sensor, anyone know how that is done? am i buying a sensor and the splice it into the wiring or is there more to it like buying sensor, wiring, and possibly part of the harness?

before anyone asks how this happened, i snapped the axle offroad, went to pull axle out, take out the sensor, and then snap, then it came out of hub with piece still left inside hub

The ABS sensor goes thru the knuckle and reads the ring revolutions on the back of the bearing. The safest way to replace it would be to disconnect the ball joints , remove the bearing and drive the sensor head out frome the inside of the knuckle. I'm not aware of an ABS sensor that has to be spliced in, all of them I've changed have a lead and plug, (some short and some long) that has to be plugged up. The systems are self- diagnosing, so it will read you have a new sensor after it's replaced and the light should go out....'course we are talking about a Jeep! Make sure to dab a little bit of wheel bearing grease in the hole when installing

The front ABS sensor enters directly into the hub. The tone ring is inside the hub.
You should be able to get to it by removing the wheel/tire, and the caliper and disc.
There is a retainer bolt on the sensor. Remove the bolt, and the remaining portion of the sensor should pull out, depending on where it sheared off.

If there is still part of the sensor in the hub, try turning a sheetrock screw into it, then pull it out. (You know, like a root canal.)

A new sensor and its portion of the harness is only about $10 from Wyckoff Parts,(a forum Sponsor) or from the dealer.

The OEM part number is 68003281AA

Default shoulda read closer...

I assumed it was what I deal with constantly, and that is removing the sensor base when it has rusted solid to the knuckle and the top breaks off leaving the body frozen into the knuckle. Usually it has to be tapped out the backside with a hammer and punch. Sorry....

Default need help removing hub

My ABS sensor broke off inside hub on the front hub, the question is how do you get the front hub off to get to the tooth ring? and there is grease inside, is that from a bearing?

The ABS sensor is inserted into a sealed unit bearing. In your situation it's really easiest to replace the entire unit bearing assembly which doesn't cost a whole lot. The new unit bearing will come with a new ABS sensor installed as well.
