Default oil consumption....

oil blow by smell at startups....40,000 miles. oil changed every 3,000 miles and for the most part well taken care of. started noticing excessive oil use at 20,000 miles.

2007 with 77000 Miles. Burns off about a quart between oil changes. Otherwise, not a problem.

My 6 speed transmission however sometimes sounds like a bobcat trapped in a clothes dryer but I think it's just the throwout bearing.

If you do a search on yahoo motors, you will find a lot of jk 07s with over 100000 for sale. Granted I don't know their history but it seems like a good sign that most of the 3.8s are lasting. Heck I don't know if it was a misprint but they listed an 09 with 290000 miles, that's pretty good if true.

I'm not doubting you, I'm just wondering if you know for sure its a spun bearing? Very interesting since you have the 2010.

Just over 9000 km, and no problems so far. No oil consumption issues. Nice to see the hi milage rigs with no problems.

Uses about a quart of oil but seems standard for the engine. Also Cracked manifold. However these are well known crappy pieces. I have an 08 with the killer lifetime warranty. You have to fight for it but it is there

My 2007 (35,000 miles) doesn't burn any oil between changes, but I'm somewhat worried about it because it has that sewing machine 'tick' sound.

2470 miles right now. but at 350 miles noticed antifreeze all over the inside of my engine and on the fenders? ( i guess leaked out somehow?) so took it to the dealer and at the factory the thermostat housing was installed incorrectly. fixed by warranty and dealer gave me another one on the lot to drive for the time. but after that no problems so far!
