How much squeaking/noise is normal?
I'm the happy owner of a 2010 2 door Rubi with about 7,500 miles on the clock. This is my first Jeep. I'm currently running the hardtop and while I don't expect it to be completely quiet, I've noticed a new noise emanating from somewhere on the driver's side near the upper window/roll bar.
Hard to describe but it sounds like a slight creaking sound, which is noticeable at almost any speed especially going over bumps or uneven road surfaces. I tried adjusting the velcro padding that covers the rollbar but the noise is still there.
The creaking sound isn't terribly loud or anything, but it's there. Once I have the windows down or the radio cranked up I hardly notice it. Am I just being too picky and do I have to accept that noises like this will develop? Or is this unacceptable at only 7,500 miles?

My 2-door hardtop had a squeak that I thought was up & behind to my left, while driving. My passenger sitting on the right side determined that the noise was coming from above and near the center. She had to position her head very close to the top to locate the source, while the Jeep was moving. I had previously been very careful not to over-tighten the two top panels- so I slightly tightened the two knobs and the squeak noise stopped.
thyere is also a long-documented noise seemingly in all JK's in the B-pillar.. sounds like it is coming from the seatbelt area.. that is the door clunk and simply wrapping the metal door striker in a single layer of good electrical tape stops that noise...(I wrapped all 4 door strikers)
as for whats normal?? my 2009 4 door at 20,000 miles has no squeaks or clunks.. ive managed to keep them all under control...
I have a soft top though

I've had a persistent squeek while shifting low gears on the MT - 6. The dealer qouted me $900 to replace the clutch based on an older tech bulletin. I don't mind the squeek that much.
The clunk in the b-piller I always thought was related to the seat belt (or something) thumping around inside the plastic interior panel on the pillar... i'll try the door tape idea.

I checked the screws and bolts around the windshield and roll bar, everything seems tight. The creaking noise is still there but it's pretty minor and only noticeable if I really listen for it.
I'll be at the dealer next week for an oil change anyway, so I might have them check out the noise.

I put some lube on those flip latches on the freedom panels, stopped the creak/squeak.
Body to rails, Might try a light coat of grease .
