Default How to reset check engine light

1998 jeep wrangler sarah. code p0121 throttle position sensor. I just replaced the part but the light is still on.

Pull the negative battery cable for about 20 seconds.

I tried that and even tried taking off the positive. Neither worked. I guess I'll have my daughter (her jeep) take it to the parts store and have them clear it. Thanks for the help!

When I replaced the TPS on my 2000 TJ the light went out immediately and the vehicle idled and ran better. I'm surprised your light didn't go out. Did the idle improve?
