hydrolic or solid lifters??
They're hydraulic rollers. Mine started ticking on startup. Then it started ticking when warmed up. Then all the time. Then it started knocking and ticking at startup. That's when I took it in at 18K and they put a new engine in it. Sounds like you have the same problem. Don't ask me what the problem was...they still don't know.

From what I understand the ticking at start up is because of oil filters that don't have effective anti-drainback valves and it takes a few seconds for the oil to circulate before it fills up the hydraulic lifters. I've read that the mopar oil filters along with a few others solve the ticking problem at start up. I personally have not solved mine just yet as I only read this a month or two ago and haven't changed my oil since then.
